Ontiveros Legacy Society

What is the Ontiveros Legacy Society?

If you make a  planned gift, such as charitable gift annuity or charitable remainder trust, or you have provided for the university through your will or living trust, you are a member of the Ontiveros Legacy Society.

Besides providing a generous charitable deduction from your gift of cash or marketable securities, charitable gift annuities provide you and/or your spouse with fixed payments (with a portion of the fixed payments being tax free) for your lives while ultimately helping an institution you strongly believe in. If funded with real estate or stock, charitable remainder trusts shield you from capital gains taxation as well as offer attractive charitable deductions and a lifetime income stream for you and your spouse.

The Ontiveros name honors the land grant ownership of Fullerton and other northern Orange County California cities. Martina and Juan Pacifico Ontiveros were the original owners of thousands of acres of land across Fullerton, Brea and Placentia, including land that now is home to our campus. The name implies the legacy of a historical continuum that celebrates Cal State Fullerton’s past, as it advances towards the future.

Why Should I Give?

These gifts help Cal State Fullerton in many ways – from scholarships and student-athletes to faculty research and building upgrades. Each year, members are honored at a special gathering and are also invited to various other campus events.

Who Benefits From My Gift?

Your gift can benefit students, research or the university as a whole. You can designate your gift in the way you deem appropriate.
