Memorial and Honorary Gifts

 

A tribute gift is a meaningful way to convey sympathy to the bereaved, memorialize a loved one, commemorate a special occasion or honor a person’s life and accomplishments. Your gift to Cal State Fullerton made in honor or memory of this special person ensures a legacy that extends far into the future.

How do I make my gift?

Please be prepared to provide the following information:

  • The name of the person you are honoring or memorializing with your gift.
  • The name and address of the honoree (for gifts in honor of) or a family member (for gifts in memory of) so that we may notify them of your gift.

 

There are three ways to make a gift:

What will my gift support? Can I select the area that I would like my gift to impact?

You may designate your gift to any fund that is particularly meaningful to you, the occasion or the honoree. A full list of all funds at Cal State Fullerton is available here. If you do not have a preferred area, we suggest the Titan Fund, supporting the university’s greatest needs.

How do I mention this tribute gift opportunity in an obituary or recommend that gifts be made to CSUF in lieu of flowers?

We suggest that you use text similar to this:

Should I alert anyone at Cal State Fullerton if I am coordinating or requesting tribute gifts?

Notifying us in advance ensures we are able to appropriately acknowledge the honoree (for gifts in honor) or family (for memorial gifts) about any tribute gifts we receive. Please contact us at 657-278-4180 or titanfund@fullerton.edu with the following information:

  • The name of the honored/deceased.
  • The name and address of who should be notified of any tribute gifts.

May I create a named fund or endowment to honor a special person?

Endowments are a wonderful way to honor someone and leave a permanent legacy. Endowments start at $25,000 and generate an annual impact that will continue to support your or your honoree’s passions in perpetuity. There are opportunities for named spaces on campus, scholarships, program support, and more. (Minimum amount for named scholarship endowments is $35,000.) I have seen naming opportunities on campus, where do I learn more about this option?

There are multiple opportunities across campus to commemorate or honor your loved one.

  • Trees and memorial benches in the Fullerton Arboretum.
  • Tree dedications and study nook namings along the Titan Promenade.

  • The George G. Golleher Alumni House exists as a place "to welcome and honor those who call Cal State Fullerton Alma Mater." It is the perfect place to establish or continue your legacy as a Titan. If you want to leave your mark or remember a loved one at the house, there are various opportunities for you to do so:
